One of the early morning dilemmas is what to eat for the breakfast! On one hand there is always high chances of skipping this vital meal of the day. There is always that snooze button to our alarm which breaks havoc on our early morning schedule because it is quite difficult to resist the temptation to sleep for five more minutes! And that results in delayed getting up…either skipping the shower or a quick shower…and then comes the worst, skipping the breakfast. No more worries, in a series of articles we plan to share some quick recipes which will help you get your share of energy for running through the day.

Today’s Highlight:  Chocolate Mug Cake.

Ingredients: All-purpose Flour, Cocoa Powder, Sugar, Sunflower Oil (Butter, if you prefer!), Egg, Baking Powder.

How-to-make: Don’t worry…and Relax!! That’s main…because rest is just like a breeze. Take a microwave-able mug. Beat an egg with 1,1/2 Tbsp Sugar and 1 Tbsp Oil (equivalent quantity of butter). Add 2 Tbsp flour, 1 Tbsp cocoa powder and 1/2 tsp baking powder. Beat everything together with a fork, till you get a smooth cake batter.If you find you it too tight then add 1-2 tsp milk till you get a smooth consistency. Now, just pop it into your microwave and turn on the high power for 2 mins. And, voila! Its done. Check if its done by sticking in a skewer in the center. If it comes out clean, then you have your breakfast all set! Take a spoon and dig in!

Change the recipe as per your preference, if you aren’t much fond of chocolate flavor. You can make a vanilla mug cake by simply replacing the cocoa powder with a drop or two of vanilla extract. Or you can also make yourself a lemon cake, if have few more extra minutes to spare. Simply take the juice of half lemon and its zest, and add it in place of cocoa powder or vanilla extract.
